Estone EX8500 DVD Player Problem keeps ejecting the DVD's

We are new to camping and just bought a Keystone 2012 Laredo 294RK.
It has an Estone EX8500/8502

The previous owners told us they used the DVD all the time????? Shame on us but we never asked them to put one in so we could see it work? Now I don’t know if they were lying to us or not… However the trailer is in perfect condition all the way around and is practically brand new with absolutely no other issues at all.. so I am thinking they may not have misled us on just this one item but it is possible for sure..

We went and placed a DVD in the unit and………
We cannot get the DVD player to accept a DVD...
We slide a DVD in the slot and the system takes it in automatically and then just clicks over and over and then ejects the DVD... then repeats this process over and over at least 3 times. Which after this I just take the DVD out.
The DVD will not stay in the unit.
We have tried other DVD discs as well.

Also….When we press the “Mode” button on the front we only get “Radio” “Aux 1” or “Aux 2”
We Never see “DVD” or "Digi Port" or “USB” either as the owner's manual states should be displayed.


Is there a trick to get this to work? Like...... are we missing something somewhere?

Does the remote control have anything to do with it? or can it operate independent without the remote?
Currently the battery is dead in the remote and we haven’t had a chance to go pick one up yet.

Stereo works fine..

Has anyone got the same unit and can help out?

Just an FYI... Found a Remanufactured Stereo/DVD player on the Jensen website... $99
Ordered it, it came real quick, installed and all is good..
