Hello all, if anyone is interested and if my testing proves out, I'm about to replace a standard OEM Dometic 6 CF fridge (2012) with a new Cannon 12v fridge (10.4 CF - LOTS more space in same cavity because no need for all the coils and such in back) so it can be deeper.
Been seeing videos on new RVs coming with 12v fridges that are consuming very little energy (2-4A an hour they say???) and decent 12v battery can keep it going for quite a few hours (w no recharging).
I picked up a new one at a salvage place near Elkart, Indiana and testing it in my hot 90ºF garage. After about 6-8 hours (I was opening and closing the doors) it seems capable as the freezer already got to 1º. I'll be testing amp draw later today.
