Tail-gator 255 water fill weirdness and pump location

My 2001 Tail-gator 255 has three separate ports for water - one is the city water hookup, that makes sense to me and is easy. Then I have two ports for fresh water. I have attached a picture below.

The owner's manual isn't helpful on telling me how to use these. Does anyone know?

Also, while I'm at it, I can hear the pump and it sounds like it's right under my stove/oven - but I cannot figure out how to access it at all. Does anyone know how/where?

And lastly, yes, these fill ports are rooted, I'll be replacing them eventually.

When hooked up to city water (top left port), your water pump should be turned off.
You do not need it on as city water pressure (shore water) will provide the pressure to flow the water in your camper. So, if connected to city water, ..... on-board water pump is always off.

Fill one tank with fresh water and do not connect the hose to the city water connection. Turn the on-board water pump on and then turn on all water faucets (hot and cold), shower, and toilet and see if water flows everywhere. If it does, then you know everything runs off that tank.

Now, drain the water from that tank (or simply use it up), and fill the other tank. See if water runs from all the faucets (hot and cold), shower, and toilet. If it does, then both your tanks are connected together and work as 1 tank.

If one tank pumps water and the other does not, I have no clue what the second tank is for then. But at least if you try this, you'll know which tank is which.

I wonder if the third port might be a black tank flush port. Strange that there is no label for it. Don't know if they were using tank flush systems on older rigs.

Our 2002 doesn't have a black tank flush. Since this is a toy hauler, I think it may have two fresh water tanks.

There's definitely 2 gravity water fill ports. There's no way to connect a hose to pressurize them. In the picture none of the 3 water ports have caps on them and look very discolored/stained and dirty. I think the OP needs to sanitize and drain all three ports very well. If it has 2 FW tanks I would think it would have 2 FW pumps. There's no telling what a previous owner may have done so some deep investigation would be prudent IMO.

An update - there are two water holding tank drain plugs, so positive there's two tanks.

RE condition: yeah, like I said, they'll be changed soon. Also I'm only really using water so I can use the toilet.... but I have already organized myself to do a sanitization as soon as I replace the fill caps.

Next mission: How to access my water pump.... it looks like the stove has to come out for that.... yikes.

If I've looked at the right floorplan, it looks like there may be access from under the refrigerator by removing the power distribution center. Remove the faceplate of the circuit breaker box and you'll see 4 screws that mount it to the cabinet face. Remove them and there's enough "looped wires" to pull it out and to the side. There may be access to the water heater "behind the electrics"....

Oh you legend, thanks, I'll look into that! Also, where did you find the floorplan?

I "googled" the year/brand/model and came up with a couple of old, expired auctions/for sale listings. There were still photos posted on those links. Looking at the photos you posted of the furnace exhaust/tank fill ports, and trying to visualize where the water pump could be located in relation to those components, under the refrigerator looked like a logical place for the water pump to ite into the city water line and the fresh water tanks. So, removing the circuit breaker panel seemed like a "logical access point".

Another "possibility is a "false wall" inside the cupboard just aft of the stove/oven. If you open that door, you may find 4 screws that hold the partition in place between the cupboard and the stove with the water pump behind that, but usually Keystone doesn't put anything plastic too close to the furnace, so that brings us back to under the refrigerator.

Here's a couple of links I found with photos: https://offerup.com/item/detail/510529917

Found the water pump in my Tail-gator-toy-hauler-trailer! I did pull the distribution box out, it wasn't actually behind it, but while I was down there I noticed two tiny fastners next to the stove... And voila!

Water pump found. Next step is testing etc.

Thank you all for your help.

Loading up the keywords so I might actually help someone else find the water pump in a 2001 keystone tailgator m-255 rr.

The water pump is behind an access panel next to the furnace under the stove.

So, to recap - it has two tanks, hence two gravity fill ports.
The water pump is behind a panel under the stove between the furnace and the fridge.
This trailer is an adventure and a half that's for bloody sure!
