5th Wheel Stabilizers

Momma wants less wobble in the front ( bedroom ). I have the 4pt leveling system by lippert on my 38’ rig.

I’ve seen there are king pin tripods and JT strong arm Jack stabilizers. Can anyone advise which one is better or if maybe the combination of them both would drastically reduce wobble.

I don’t know that you’ll get much from either one. You have an auto level system so the entire rv rests on those 4 points. I’m surprised you only have a 4 point on a 38’ 5th wheel. I thought keystone went to 6 point on anything over 36’. I had a king pin stabilizer, noticed very little difference if any at all, notice I said “had”. Never used the JTSAs, don’t know how much they would help on an auto level system.

I am happy with our Steady Fast system that I installed on our FW. Rock solid.

I have X chocks and a kingpin tripod. I don’t have autolevel so I do see significant difference. My previous 36’ fiver was very stable so I use it on my current 30’.

IMHO, the hydraulic levelers don't really need additional stabilizing since they are installed with a slight outward cant to them which automatically creates stabilization. However, the electric system (which is what we have) goes straight down and they do allow for extra movement in the rig. We have the JT Strongarms. They do a pretty good job of reducing movement. There is always some movement and how much you want to live with is subjective. These work for us.

On the tripod...don't bother. They are large and cumbersome and require that you store it somewhere. With the Strongarms, or any other similar product, the tripod will be of no real use.

Our previous 5er was like Chuckster's, without auto level, and we found that the tripod and xchocks worked for us as well. But now it's just the Strongarms.

I had the same thoughts after I purchased it why only 4 were not installed. Had my dealer contact lippert and basically said they wouldn't warranty the frame. I think it was the dealer who didn't want to warranty it.

That sounds like bull, I think the dealer is feeding you a line. They put 6 point systems on smaller units. All of your Montanas, Alpines, and Avalanches are 6 point hydraulic and range from 34-43’.
