While the subject has been well covered already, here is a link to an article I was reading earlier today.
https://coolrvers.com/2008/rv-surge-...Zu21iSEc6C-17Y

FWIW, We have a Hughes Power Watchdog and prefer it over the others for
two reasons:
1. if you get a surge you can replace the surge module vs the entire unit.
2. You can monitor the unit and restart, etc from your smartphone without getting up off the couch.

I assume you have 30 amps so buy a Progressive Industries 30-amp surge protector, which what I had for my first 30-amp fifth wheel trailer.

Buy a 30 amp Progressive EMS not just surge protector.
As already mentioned surge protectors & an EMS are totally different devices, the EMS "protects" from almost everything/anything, the surge protector "warns" you of a surge.

It's ironic that this thread and this thread (LINK) were featured in the same issue of the forum newsletter:

"I plugged into a 220 power box that was wired wrong and smoked my power panel on my Cougar trailer..."

OP hasn't been back since initially asking... just saying all the opinions may be falling on deaf ears.
