Saw that too, not a bad price especially if you are close to Tulsa.

Interesting video. I wonder if any manufacturers will use it as OEM.

Looks like a nicely engineered product for sure.

I have three slides …one cable for my refrigerator slide…one rack and pinion ? For my dinette and the bed slide I’m not sure what it is…I don’t see schwintek hardware on it…it’s possibly a cable slide with the cables under the bed?..
None of them move as smooth as the one in the video

Good video and shares some valuable information IMO. When I was looking for a new RV this last go round the salesman I was talking to at one place (GD) told me to avoid Schwintek because of all the problems they had. He did not elaborate other than you couldn't keep the slides even. I was looking at a Reflection.

All methods used to move a slide seem to have some sort of issues so we just have to work through them. Good luck to all.

Look under the bed. It may be either electric or hydraulic with a single tube. You can’t see it because it’s above the floor.

My '13 had the Schwitec bedroom slide & in 6+ years fulltiming never had an issue with the system. I did sync that slide 2-3 times a year & kept the track sprayed regularly with a silicone spray & the seals conditioned.

It sounds like you don't own that trailer any longer, but just a heads up to anyone that does have a Schwintec slide. They clearly tell you to never lubricate the slide track (the metal grooved part attached to the side of the slide room) They do however recommend that the upper and lower gear cogs be lubricated. They are located on the motor shaft....upper and lower.

Currently the 2021 and 2022 Alpine fifth wheels that have some of the slide outs as Schwinteks are all having issues... Some of it is OP failure to understand how to operate the slides and keep them in sync.. but most are parts failures with the motor drive

I would not own an RV with the Schwintek slides... All 3 on my Alpine are hydraulic and the only kind I will ever have

Just had training from Lippert on the schwintek. NO LUBE anywhere.

Hey just bumping this thread to see if there are any updates. We are currently in Michigan and our bedroom slide won’t go out. Not a show stopper just disheartening after having it fixed over this past winter. I’m considering the Vroom upgrade but it’s so far from NJ to Arizona.

Are you getting any error codes?

Nope. All connections are good and no error codes. It’ll go out about 3”, then can’t to one side then stop. This is what happened originally. When I get home from this trip I’m going to try to fix it myself.

Have you tried re synching?

One quirk to the schwintek system is it doesn’t like being stopped mid travel. You should move slide fully and wait for the motors to stop humming every time.

Yes. I opened it a couple inches, then retracted and held it in for several seconds. I repeated it 6 times. When I tried to open it up, it canted and stopped again. I don’t want to manual override it until I get home.

I'm dealing with a severe failure at the moment on my 2022 295RL HC. Total slide failure. It appears to be a design flaw of sorts. Slide works great on flat ground. Level the trailer on 2% grade and its enough to cause frame flex at the bedroom opening causing the slide gear to jump. So much so that it blew up the bed frame. Working with Keystone right now to find a permanent fix. Sam Mootana says that on the sales side their not aware of any schwintek issues. The dealer is being very helpful and tells me their experiencing a lot of failures on the 2022 models. The service manager tells me that they changed some components for metal to plastic causing the issues. I don't believe that's the whole problem. I believe that even on a mild left to right grade you can't rely on the jacks alone. You need to support the axles by placing support under the tires.

With it fully retracted, press the extend for 2 seconds only. Then press retract until the motors are silent. Repeat 2 times, then increase extend to 5 seconds.

This is interesting. Our first night was at a campground on a mountainside in state college Pennsylvania. I didn’t think it was too bad, but I added wood under the low side jacks and auto leveled. It was there that the slide malfunctioned.
