New Truck

We just picked up our new truck today, and are looking forward to our first trip of the season in a few weeks.

Ours was ordered 12/27/21 and arrived at the dealership yesterday and we picked it up today. I can’t image waiting 7 months!

No clue when I might get mine. They keep changing the production date.

I have heard that certain features are considered low or no commodity (limited if any parts supply available). Things like 5th wheel hitch, adaptive steering, spray-in bed liner, adaptive cruise control, twin panel moon roof, etc. I know of others who dropped some features and suddenly received a production date.

When I bought my truck, a couple was in to order a new Cherokee and I was listening and the salesman couldn’t get it to start an order…he made some calls and found out they had too many options that were not available so it wouldn’t let it order..I can’t remember what the option was …it was a year ago…but the salesman seemed surprised that it would do that.

Most of those are standard on what I ordered a 2022 f350 srw King Ranch. So guess I just wait till it comes in.

Congrats on getting your truck! My new Sierra has been on order since mid November 2021. Per vinview at the dealership, which I did see, it is sitting at the rail yard at Flint MI waiting transport.

According to a thread I'm following on the Duramax forum a lot of the guys trucks have started moving since last week. So I haven't given up yet.

Congrats and nice setup!
I ordered my Double-cab Sierra Gasser 11/5/21. It's supposed to finally show up this week.

Thanks everyone!

I have to imagine we can do better than the 10 mpg we got while towing with the F150, but I have no illusions we will get anywhere close to the unloaded 22 mpg.

No direct investments in oil companies, but I am sure my 401k has some!

Nice truck, congratulations! No doubt about it, you'll be making investments, or at least deposits, you just won't get any dividends.

Iconic Silver is the color (not my first choice, we wanted Carbonized Gray), but the Silver is quickly growing on me. Over 18 years, I had 12 company vehicles and every one of them was silver so I was hoping to get away from that color, but this silver is darker and looks good on the truck (check out the pic on my first post on this thread).

Axles are 3:73, our payload capacity is 3,470 lbs. and towing capacity is 14,700 lbs.

Good all around gear ratio and good payload. Nice color also. Had two Ford trucks in silver and they usually stayed clean looking. The Super Duty trucks are rare puppies to find on a lot down here and people are paying a premium price for the ones they do have. Have fun with that beautiful truck!

Rob,

Congratulations! Been following on BOF, and I still can’t crack the nut with United Road for more detailed info. At least they acknowledge my VIN and destination dealer on the delivery receipt page. Tracking my rail car, it stopped for lunch in eastern TN, and is continuing towards my unload terminal in Petersburg, VA.

Enjoy,

Joe
