Fuzion 430 generator problems

We have 2022 Fuzion 430 and the generator will not stay running more than 30 minutes or less. Has a 36 code, changed oil and filter so oil level is correct. Once it shuts down and try a restart no luck unless you push the primer button then it runs maybe 10 minutes. Do these have an additional fuel pump back at the tank? How about a fuel filter? My other Onan has a filter at the carb don't see one here. Does the fuel station have to be on? The hour meter shows 994 hours on a brand new unit, really starting to piss me off.
Thanks Rick

Since a 36 code can be related to fuel pressure, there should be a fuel filter located where the rubber line enters the gen. There isn’t another pump at the tank that I’m aware of and you don’t need to have the fuel station turned on. There may be a restriction in the line, maybe some junk in the tank clogging the pick up.

You might want to get a can of fuel, run a fuel line to the gen and see if it runs. That will tell you if the issue is the gen or the fuel supply.

The 994 hours are probably just break-in running time

I’ve seen a partially linked fuel line coming from the tank cause similar problems. Sounds like a slow fuel pick up. Once it sits for a bit, the vacuum on the line pulls fuel into the line, but once it starts up and uses that fuel, it can’t draw more fast enough. I’d trace the fuel line back and make sure it isn’t kinked somewhere.

So this is what i discovered. A nearly total kink just about 12" before going up to the fuel pump. Looks like the installer had pulled the slack up to the generator and pulled a little to hard. Had good flow of fuel out of the hose. One more problem, now no gas is getting into the carb. Pulled the carb, couldn't blow any air into the bowl. Removed the bowl and needle still no flow. found a little red fleck stuck in the seat. Not sure what it could have been. Reassemble and it ran for 1 1/2 hours before I shut it down.
Made me a happy camper!
Thanks for all the help

With the symptoms you described, I figured it was a kinked fuel line. Glad you got it taken care of.

I’m also kinda curious about the 994 hours. Keystone doesn’t ship them with fuel, the dealer has to service them and make sure everything is running. Doesn’t sound like your service department did much since the fuel line was kinked. Don’t know how it would have gotten almost 1,000 hours on it. Even 99.4 or almost 100 hours would be excessive for a dealer service. That’s normally 1-2 hours. I’m wondering if the meter is bad or if you got some type of a refurbished unit.

From the factory mine showed 3 or 4 hours on it. I knew the selling dealer did not run or test it as the generator was not even hooked up to the batteries and I had to trouble shoot for them why it wouldn’t start. Go figure. I looked through the in command book and found how to reset the hour meter.

Not sure how the 994 hours got on it. It's sure looks like a brand new unit that's for sure. QC sure has taken a dive. aktmracer where did you find the reset info?
Thanks Rick

If memory serves, I called In-Comand and they walked me through it providing a code that needs entered. I’m pretty sure I wrote down the process in my manual. I can take a look tomorrow night when I get home and get back to you.

I don't remember the code but i remember it didn't match my problems that i was having. I just happened to find that the coil wasn't working by accident.Pull the spark plug out of each cylinder and see if each cylinder is firing. Hope this helps.
