New Member Hello!

I've been meaning to join this forum since December when I moved into my RV, but finally getting around to it!

I live in it full time. Survived my first Montana winter and now trying to get through the heatwave.
I am parked on my family land, completely stationary.
Not using the toilet, doing a compost situation currently.

No city water, filling fresh tank with 5 gal jugs constantly.
Probably doing everything wrong.
This life is not for the weak, but i'm growing weary.

I now have mice living in my bedroom walls, oooohh the joy.
Not enough hours in the day to remedy all the issues but hoping I can chip away at them on this forum with the help of you lovely people.
Cheers!

Let's see if we can help with one issue at a time. First you need water to live. Is there any possibility of having a well drilled on site? There are methods of pumping water without electric service. Least expensive is a hand pump. For total convenience you can use solar panels to charge batteries to power a pump. It all requires money but there's a range of options.

Love your user name!

My buddy uses a big water tote that he has filled 1 or 2 times a month for his water. He bought a 12 vdc water pump and pipes it directly to the city water inlet on his TT. It works well and the pump only turns on when he needs water (just like your fresh water system).

Good Luck!

My neighbor did the same thing before he got his well in. He found a similar container that was originally filled with vegetable oil and set it on the back of my motorcycle trailer. He would come by and fill up from my tank as I have a water outlet that the fire department can use available on my 3000 gallon tank. Not sure where he got the container but after some rinses with dish detergent, it worked fine.

Welcome from Utah,
Like a lot of Montanans, I'm sure there is a certain pride in roughing it.
Using 2, 7 gallon totes, we can fill our fresh water tank and last about 4 days. Of course the further you are from the water source the more totes you will want to use, (4 or 6) totes at one time. The big tank others have suggested is great if you have a way to get water to it.
Our problem is the black tank, but you seem to have that problem solved.
I'd suggest sticky traps for the mice if you haven't already tried them. They've worked well for us when needed.
You don't mention what you're doing for power but in your case I'd go big on solar with a generator back up.
Keep us posted with your progress. We'd love to hear your stories as you work your way through your new lifestyle issues.
