2019-20 ram 6.7 cp4 recall

well i had the recall completed today and i’m pretty happy ….they had the truck two days and gave me a ram 1500 loaner while it was being worked on.

replaced the injection pump and some fuel lines and it seems like they did a good job..time will tell i guess ..

took out the problematic cp4 and put in the tried and true cp3…when the cp4 goes bad it detonates shrapnel into the fuel system.

have to hand it to Ram for stepping up and doing what’s right..it’s an expensive recall

Shouldn’t effect your fuel mileage, the engine still wants the same amount as it did before and the injectors are still the same size. At least for your sake I hope it doesn’t affect the mileage, Rams weren’t that great to begin with.

your probably right as long as the fuel pressure is the same as before…i had a 2005 5.9 cummins that was great on fuel…my 2012 6.7 wasn’t so great

I used to run with a couple guys that had rams when I transported, I always got 2-3 mpg better than they did, 2 was typical, 3 happened every now and then, not often. Our trucks were all within a year of each other. One was a year older and one a year newer than mine.
