Does this apply to non-residents of Louisiana too?

It is my understanding that it is for anyone, but it only applies to campsites, not to cabins. I corrected the post.

I'm not sure how this offer works but normally Louisiana does not offer senior discounts to non-residents.

Bayou Segnette State Park off highway 90 in Marerro has never offered the 50% with the Golden Senior Pass, however it is a great Rv park and easy access to New Orleans.

62PLUS – 50% discount off campsite stays for customers age 62 and older. Offer valid until 12/31/2021. Be prepared to show your ID to verify age upon check-in. Not for use on Tentrr reservations

It don't say RESIDENT ONLY do it...

You spent any time in Louisiana?
Sometimes you gotta interpret it for yourself.

No offense to you Woody, anyone here, or my cousins in Louisiana.

When you're comparing the "armpit" to the whole, well, it's not always going to include the "better parts".... Having lived 50 miles from Ft Polk for 25+ years, I can assure you, that Leesville/Ft Polk is NOT even close to representative of the remainder of that state.....

Wait a darn minit! THERE IS A BASTROP LOOSIANNA? I am calling Gov. Richards and complain. That just ain't right! NO SIR... Bastrop is a Texas town. Saw there was a park there in Javi's link. Ever notice that almost every town in San Antonio has NON TEXANS also using that town's name! Paris, Abilene, and now Bastrop... where will it end? Heck, even La's Senator borrowed the name John Kennedy.

George, even Woody's town has had their town's name bastardized: Trinidad!
And I can tell everyone this: There is more fun and good food to be had in Louisiana per square mile than any place we have ever visited! I'm getting ready to order our king cake tomorrow. Our friends in the park can't decide on their two favorite flavors.

I lived there 10 years, it is a great state. But I advise people to verify the non-residents rates directly if it is a concern.

We called Leesville, DiseaseVille.... I did get over to Lake Charles a few times to relax... dry county but that didn't bother me.. just wanted to relax... Most of the time we drove to Dallas/ Fort Worth if I could get a longer leave..

In my family Leesville is called Sleazeville, even though some of the family likely contributed to the sleaze. But I would imagine when Fort Polk was booming you could encounter some nasty diseases...off base.
Yes there are better areas of Louisiana than the central area around Alexandria. My Dads folks were in the Lafayette area about 1805 then got chased up to the Oberlin area about 1830 with the law on their trail. Not especially better than Leesville, just different. A bit more Cajun influence.

I was stationed at England AFB in Alexandria. When they decided to close the base there was nothing for my troops to do so I took a team to the Zoo and built a small railroad track that runs around the Zoo. Loved it there and plan to come back and visit!

I've got a bunch of distant kinfolk living in and around Natchitoches. Both sides of my family have stopped there in their westward migration starting in about 1802 through 1840 or so.. A lot of Westfall's and Linder's with a smattering others; some stayed and some moved on.. One of these days I ought to go look some of them up and say howdy..

My maternal VanMeldert (Melder) folks left Belgium and landed at New York. From there they were in Natchitoches about 1836, then south of Alexandria at what became known as Melder. They were good people i.e. boring. I have walked every bit of that old cemetery in Natchitoches looking for a grave maker for a Melder that is supposed to be there. The priest from the church told me the very early grave markers have likely disappeared. One of the scenes from the movie Steel Magnolias was filmed in the cemetery.
Javi you ought to go visit. Natchitoches is a very historic town, oldest town in the Louisiana Purchase. My Mom went to college there and always loved it. There is the best RV park I have seen nearby. Grand Ecore.

Now my Dad's side is fascinating. My 3GGRandfather was a land speculator around Lafayette and sold Jim Bowie some land that he didn't own. Bowie was looking for him fairly intensely they say. I have a digital pic of the promissory note signed by Bowie that I used to keep on my office wall. It was always a good conversation starter!
