Hideout Ladder

I'm considering installing a rear ladder on our TT. I have never seen one installed on our model - 30 RKDS. Keystone sent a print of the backing. Does anyone have a ladder on theirs? Which side (right or left) is it installed on. Any info and/or pics will be appreciated.

I was told by keystone that if they dont come from the factory with a ladder then it wont have the blocks in place to attach a ladder.

I emailed Keystone with my VIN# and they sent me a drawing of the TT rear section with the blocking locations. According to them the blocking is in the framing whether a ladder is ordered or not.

The Hideout is one Keystone line [maybe the only one?] that still offers an 'optional' rear ladder.

Each of our RV's with a rear ladder were factory installed on the right side (facing the rear of the trailer).
Hope this helps.

If the drawing shows the blocking locations doesn't the blocking placement pretty much determine left or right?

If the blocking runs the width of the trailer then I guess not.

At that point I'd look on the roof for the side with least vents, skylights, obstructions, etc and go on that side. Mostly for ease on climbing on/off ladder on/off roof.

Good luck.

Ladder on Hideout

We have a ladder on the rear of our 2014 Keystone Hideout 30RKDS. It is on the left / driver's side. Very sturdy! Picked our TT up from the dealer 2-1/2 weeks ago and spent two nights in it in our driveway! However, we returned home earlier this evening after camping for the last five days. Great 'maiden voyage'! Would have liked it to be a bit warmer...but 60 degrees and sun was okay! Chilly at night...used the furnace and stayed comfy. This is our first TT after using tents for 20 years and then spending the next 20 years with a pop up! Enjoy your trailer!

All: Thanks for your input.

BlindGuyNAR:The drawing shows blocking on both sides with centers called out.

The Mac's: We have had quite a few 'driveway camping trips'. Loved 'em all! Thanks for your response. Does your TT have the power cord on the left like ours? That side would be our first choice as the curb side has the kitchen window and cowboy shower.

Hideout Ladder....

Yes....electrical cord comes out the driver's/left side. Outdoor shower is on the rear of the TT...right side.
