Newbie Here

Hey Everyone,

My name is Jason and I've already posted a couple of questions and received some sound advice on these forums. I'm looking forward to picking all of your veteran RV brains as questions arise. I have a 2014 Keystone Hideout 24 BHWE being pulled by a 2013 Lincoln Navigator with HD Towing Package. This is my very first trailer and, to be honest, I can count on both hands the number of times I've been camping throughout my life. I'm a teacher from southern California and since I have a good amount of vacation, I figured buying a trailer and seeing the good old USA would be something valuable for my family (my wife and I have 4 young children). I want to be able to create memories with my children that I was unable to have growing up myself, so here we are! We took the setup out for the first time a couple of weeks ago during President's Day weekend on a trip to San Diego, and have already been exposed to the amazingly friendly RV community. We are going to Yosemite (Upper Pines campground) during spring break for a week, and plan on a summer trip to Colorado through Utah and its 5 National Parks. Hope to see you all out on the road!

Welcome!

You have a great idea, we have many happy memories camping with the kids, through out their lives, starting with a full-size Dodge van, when our son could barely hold his head up, moving to a tent, then a bigger tent, then a popup.

They still talk about the fun times camping with us among their friends and are now in their 30s and actually go camping with friends.

Enjoy the time with them, while they are young... they grow up so quickly quickly.

Welcome to the forum from Radium Hot Springs BC.
We also started with a pop up with 3 daughters. They are now in their 50s and still remember the fun times camping. Enjoy making memories.

Welcome to the forum from Kansas City, MO! My wife is a retired educator. She always said she taught for June, July and August and early retirement! We started camping 2 years ago and don't know why we waited so long. Enjoy!
