Position of these switches

When looking at the switches what true position should they be in? Looking at the left one (down position) should it be up or down? Does up towards the electric means that it will draw from the electric rather than gas?

Looking at the switch to the right(up position) if I flip it down does that mean it will draw from the electric? Lost instructions and a bit confused any info will help.

In that picture, the water heater is set to "on" and your water heater would be operating on Electric, if you are hooked up to shore power or the generator is running. Flipping the switch down, turns off the electric to the water heater. Since the gas is also turned off, your water heater would not be operating.

The ceiling light switch is on, and all the other switches are in the off position....including the water pump. Hope this helps.

Only additional comment: when pugged into shore power at the campground you can run BOTH the water heater options for a faster recovery. If your plugged into a 15/20A plug (at home) I wouldn't operate the electric side.
