Question Black Flush not working - First trip

Hey folks,

New Passport 2950BH owner and after our first shakedown trip, everything worked other than the black tank flush. It seems like there is a complete blockage in the line. Am I missing something or is this likely the issue?

Still under warranty, so anything outside of simple I'll leave for the RV shop when it goes back to have the rear ladder installed (was on order).

I connected the spray port hose to the black tank flush, and also tried with a direct hose connection. Couldn't feel any water moving through the hose, as it just felt pressurized like I needed to turn a valve. This model is just a screw connector below my spray port, just like the city water connection.

Fortunately for me, I have a rhino blaster from our last TT, and can also flush into my front yard cleanout when I winterize.

Any thoughts?

Now we just need to replace the metal blinds with accordion black blinds and we'll be all set.

The anti siphon valve is probably installed backwards. It is usually under the bathroom sink. There is an arrow that indicates the flow direction. I would start there.

That’s what I’m thinking...once again a stellar PDI done by a highly qualified technician. NOT

I am glad I ran across this thread. I had the exact same thing happen to me and my 21 Cougar yesterday on our maiden voyage. I am headed home from work right now to look into it more.

So my valve under the sink was indeed routed backwards. My next question is there any negatives to the valve sitting sideways or do the fittings need to be swapped to keep the valve sitting upright?

IMO the best thing to do with that $0.27 piece of plastic is to throw it in the trash. Get some pex 90 degree fittings and bypass it. Then get a $5 hose bib vacuum break for the end of your water hose. Never wonder when that plastic junk will leak.. notice I said when not if.

That cheap plastic anti siphon valve causes more flooded RVs than you can imagine. Your standing outside flushing your black tank ... so you think only to find water pouring out if the bathroom...

Many folks that use the built in tank flush forget to blow it out at end of year and when it freezes it cracks...and .. you get a flood next year when you clean out the tank...

Personally I’ve never in 7 years used the built in tank flush on my Alpine.. and won’t

If the factory plastic valve isn’t upright it will leak.
