50 amp female plug stuck in male plug on unit

My plug is stuck in my unit. I can unscrew cable and twist and get about 1/2 out. and will not pull out and release from unit. Maybe bent prong? Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the forum!!

50 amp cords are “twist lock” meaning you line up the tabs and the metal strip. Push in and turn clockwise to lick onto unit.

I just want to be sure your turning the cord counter clockwise before trying to pull out. You may have to turn it clockwise again, lift up on the connector and try again.

This exact same thing happened to us a little over a year ago. We had been at one location for a couple months and were relocating a couple hours away. Everything else was packed up, and couldn't get the plug to release from the receptacle. I figured it was going to be trashed getting it out so forced it. Once at the new location, made a hasty trip down the mountain to a CW and bought a new right angle adapter and a new 50 amp receptacle for the rig. Turned out to be one of the hotlegs inside the connection, male or female blade could not be determined which caused the problem, but the heat swelled the white plastic part of the plug. There was no corrosion, and neither leg had been loaded beyond it's rating. Got the best quality parts available and haven't had any problem since.
