Original TST 507 was monochrome. You can upgrade the monitor only if desired.

Another vote here for the TST507. We have the one with the color monitor. I didn't like the idea of the ones that require your cell phone. My cell is set to blank the screen after 30 seconds or so. So to take a look at the tires, I'd have to wake up the phone and open the app each time. Phooey! I like having the monitor scree on all the time and we look at it every 10 or 15 minutes. My wife knits while I drive and she's the official tire minder, minder.
The setup cam with a repeater but for our 272UFL we get a connection without the repeater, so I didn't use it. Was that wasted money? Maybe, but I'd rather have it and not need it than the other way round.

We got a TireMinder Smart TPMS. We liked being able to use our smartphones as the monitor rather than adding another dingus to our dashboard. It came with the signal repeater. We get the occasional (maybe twice a week) bogus reading from it which corrects itself two minutes later; we've learned to ignore any reading that says the tire "suddenly" went to under 5 lb. (though we do check our mirrors just in case). You can also buy additional sensors separately, so we installed one on our spare just to keep us honest.

It sure beats the TPMS on our 2012 F-150 TV, which just indicates, "One of the tires has a problem, now guess which one."

Fast forward to 2015 and an F250 and Ford's TPMS is still like that. It drove me mad when the dealership rotated the tires and didn't retrain the TPMS. It kept telling me we had low pressure in one of the tires. I checked and recheked them. Every time we went somewhere I had to dismiss the warning message. GRRR! And the routine devised for owners to retrain the system themselves was surely written by Laurel and Hardy!

TireMinder tech support told me to only use the anti-theft "device" if I felt a need due to the area I was in, but to not normally use it. Sounds crazy, but I'm going with their advice.

The TST 507 works great for us, we use it just on the trailer tires but it will handle up to about 18 tires, so it will work with the TV tires also. Just need more sensors.

I put it on against their advice when I first installed the system. Since the tire caps weren't flow-through, it really increased the hassle factor every time I needed to top up. Now I leave it off.

I have the color monitor and like it. Having never seen the monochrome I can’t say which is better.

Really? My '16 f150 reads a pressure for each tire. My dad has a '19 350, but I haven't messed with his. I assumed they would all be the same. Bummer! I love that feature.

All depends on the trim level

I have an xlt, my dad has an XL. It doesn't get any lower than that. I'll check his XL SD out if I ever think about it. I wonder if it changed in '16. There were a few small changes in '16, such as Sync 2 to Sync 3.

My 16 & 17 F350’s with XLT trim have individual tire pressure display.

I wonder if that was a change that came with Sync 3.

Just wondering why you would buy a pressure monitor signal booster when the manufacturer should have provided a unit that was capable of pushing an adequate signal for the price you paid for it.

Not a total Solution

Here's my take on trailer tire pressure systems monitors. I purchased a Tire Minder and used it for three years. I liked the idea of being able to check tire pressure while traveling. I have since stopped using it after two Blowout episodes. Each time I had a highway blowout (Thank You China Bombs) Tire Minder didn't sound an alarm until I was stopped on the side of the road. SO don't buy one under the illusion that it will be a total tire problem solver.

Tire pressure

I have been using this Schumacher tire pressure monitor for three years and I bought it at Walmart for $63 it works perfectly and no repeater necessary. Any Walmart in the auto section has it it plugs into the cigarette lighter with four sensors.

TireMinder works best for us as we monitor it with an app on our phone.

The only indication of an impending blowout on any brand of TPMS will usually only be a sudden increase in temperature, which the system should have warned/alarmed, followed by a low tire pressure after the fact.

I chose the Tire-Safeguard, because I liked the bigger display.

I purchased the EezTire TPMS two months ago for a 3,500 mile trip with my 36' fifth wheel. The system worked good but at times would drop signal with my RV's back wheels.
Based on others response I will be adding a $50 repeater to make sure the intermittent signal drop doesn't occur again. I do like that it monitors both temperature and pressure.
Which ever system you buy make sure that you change all of your rubber valve stems to the metal ones. I've heard that the whipping action of the rubber valve stems makes the possibility of loosing one or more sensors highly likely. I had all of my valve stems replace with metal ones for about $15 per tire. It's better than replacing the sensor at $50 a piece. Good luck
