Types of roof tape

Is slide tape considered less permanent than Eternabond tape? I am working with the company that makes the roof for my RV. For some reason the layers of rubber started separating and have now actually come apart to the point I can see wood under the rubber. They have agreed to send me a replacement roof and an install kit at this point. I am waiting to hear back from a manager about getting install covered also because labor is huge on a 43' roof replacement. My question is, I plan to put a piece of tape over it for most likely the winter because they are behind on production of the roof membrane material, is slide tape sufficient or does it need to be Eternabond?

Slide tape? If your talking about the 4” strip on the slide roof at the outside flange, that’s eternabond tape.

The dealer I was at had two types of tape. One was eternabond and 4inches wide. The other was about three inches wide and he called it slide tape?

If it looked like eternabond, and it’s cheaper you should be ok.

It looked like it. The cost was not a concern. My concern was if they ask for more pics could I remove it. Hopefully they have enough. To get it to adhere to my liking I used a corn bag that I microwaved to heat the tape and the roof area. Seemed to seal well. Now to find a dealer that will want to do warranty work of a roof. My one year is up and the warranty will be from Dicor.
