Winterize system?

Does anybody have one that works the way it's supposed to?
Messed with it for about an hr. & 1/2 today before I got it done.
It will pull out of the jug & then stop, then start again almost like sucking air on the inlet.

Don't have any problems with it pumping from the water tank.
All fittings seem tight on the pump.

I installed mine backwards last week, turned it around and works great.
