Grey Tank/Shower issue

First time owning a travel trailer, it's a 2014 Keystone Outback 298RE. Took a shower and there was water standing in the shower when I was done. I checked the panel by the door and it shows that the gray tank is full even though I just emptied it two days ago and I'm the only person using the trailer. *The panel has two buttons that say gray.* I would assume that I have two gray tanks but when I checked the owner's manual and when I Google it says that I only have one. I went through the process to drain the gray tank and nothing came out but the water is still standing in the shower. I then tried plunging it and checking the trap for any foreign bodies and there was nothing. When I'm plunging it sounds like there's a ton of water under the shower. Kitchen and bathroom sinks aren't having any issues. I would almost think that there's another tank somewhere but I don't see anything. Any suggestions?

Do you have 2 dump valves or 3?

Not sure about your model but there may be a hidden dump valve for that grey tank in the galley, its a bit hard to find but mine is to the right of the drain pipe, the other 2 re to the left. There are many posts about this on the forum.

Good luck!

You have two grey tanks and one black tank. Each tank has a 30 gallon capacity.

The kitchen has a grey tank and the bathroom has a grey tank and a black tank. The bathroom sink drains because it is higher than the shower floor. When you are running water in the bathroom sink, it is just adding more water to the tub since they are connected.

It is not unheard of for the tank dump handles to be reversed/mislabeled so try dumping what you think is your black tank and listen for a BIG rush of water.

Sure wish we could post pictures here. When you say it's in the galley I don't know what that means.

I thought they were only two but I'm going to have to get underneath of it tomorrow and see if I can find another one I guess.

Will the valve be on the same side as the kitchen and will it look like the pull-out valve on the other side? Because I'm not seeing anything yet.

You should have two separate dump pipes forward of the slide on the off-camp side (driver's side/road side). The pull handles will be next to those dump pipes. There should be labels on the side wall of the camper above those dump pipes.

In this video, watch from 1 min 10 sec to 1 min 35 sec.

I have found both of those but I can't find anything to dump the second gray tank. I guess I'm going to have to call somebody which I hate to do because it took every penny I had to set this thing up LOL

Look to either side of the forward dump pipe. There should be a long handle protruding from the belly through a big wad of spray foam. If you don't see a handle sticking out, look for a small round hole where one could have been at some point. Those long aluminum rods are often two-piece and they unscrew themselves from vibrations over time and fall off. I had that happen on my Passport and was fortunate enough to be able to unscrew the rod from the black tank and poke it through the hole in the foam to engage the threads on the grey tank valve rod which let me dump it. Replacement handles/rods are under $10 on Amazon.

Based on the video I watched, it looks like the black tank valve is in front of the main dump pipe and the grey tank handle is to the right of the main dump pipe. The handle for the rear (kitchen) grey tank should be to the right of the rear dump pipe.

Before you call someone. Get underneath of it. Look for any holes the handle may have fallen off. Also open both of the tanks you have found and make sure they are empty. I would think you have two gray tanks and one black tank. But I couldn’t find any information to substantiate that. On my old 29rks I had two gray. The second gray tank handle was under the slide out had to get on my knees to see the hand and craw under the slid. Might check around that area. Good luck.

FINALLY!! Thank you so much everyone that replied to my question. I thought I was semi-prepared going into buying a travel trailer but like most things in life there is always a lot to learn. There is another valve that has to be opened but it is not a pull handle, you either have to be able to literally put your head between your legs or lay flat on your back to see it. I finally saw something thought I would pull on it and I got christened by the second gray water tank. Eww. Thanks again everyone

was it just a small diameter aluminum rod? If so, either the extension and/or T-handle unscrewed/broke off.

Glad you found it, but sorry to hear you got wet.

Sorry you got wet but it could have been worse. Just think if it was a black tank.

Galley is RV/Boat speak for kitchen.

The galley dump handle is usually separate from the grey/black handles in the wet bay area.
Look under the trailer sticking out of the bottom of the covering. It is usually near the section where galley/kitchen is. Located on the same side as other black/grey handles.
