Our 2017_Keystone_Bullet 26RBPR stereo appears not wired from Factory?

Our 2017_Keystone_Bullet 26RBPR stereo is not wired from Factory?

What is not working appears to be an original Keystone oversight. The wiring for the outdoor speakers (C) was never installed (not there, missing) and for some reason the bedroom speakers (B)the wires are there but speakers not working. They may not be hooked up at the speaker end? Nothing appears tampered with when I pulled the head unit out of the cabinet but have not pulled the bedroom speakers. Seems wires were never installed. Outdoor Speakers are sealed with factory RTV, and I would have no idea how to run wires or remove speakers to inspect without doing damage.

Any suggestions?

If it were me, RTV or not, the first thing I would do is pull the outside speakers and bedroom speaker and see if there are wires there. If there are then they are likely behind the wall at the stereo.

“Our 2017_Keystone_Bullet 26RBPR stereo is not wired from Factory? “

So what is the story behind the story? You said you have a 2017 model, so were you the original owner and this wasn’t a big deal for the past 7 years, or is this unit new to you and this was just now discovered?

The Story Behind the Story

Everything else in the camper is "Better or just like new" All is good now including the truck we bought along with the camper except for the radio. Wonder if I should call Keystone?

On a 2017 unit, there is nothing Keystone can or will do except tell you to take it to a dealer. They will not share wiring plans and will not assume responsibility for a camper that was built 7-8 years ago, especially not for a second owner.

You will need to fix this yourself. Have you asked the prior owner if they ever used the stereo and if they were aware of the issue, or maybe they modified or changed something themselves?

The stereo and speakers are the lowest level of quality that the rv manufacturers can find…At most campgrounds you would be getting the side eyes from fellow campers if you had music playing outside at anything more then barely audible…If you are boondocking in the middle of nowhere that’s a different story…You could get a small bluetooth speaker that would probably sound much better but again you don’t want to irritate your fellow campers.

And i LOVE music but im respectful of my neighbors…At home i jam out but not at the campground

And as mentioned Keystone would never in a million years take responsibility for that on a 7 year old second owner out of warranty rv…( can barely get anything approved warranty wise on brand new trailers lol)..Who knows what actually happened to the wires since then…members come on here every now and then and remove factory installed parts to “modify” their rv to suit just their needs….The wires are probably there but maybe the head unit was replaced and they left off the outside speakers…or someone removed the original one temporarily to get behind the wall and didn’t connect back up.

I’d go to Crutchfield and purchase a new head unit and speakers if it were that important to me

The 440 was in a lot of cars and even their trucks. Drove a new 440 six pack Dodge Challenger back in the day. Sales guy in the car kept telling me to "put my foot in it" but I wouldn't because it was a new car and I didn't want to "hot rod" it. He had me pull over and let him drive back to the dealership. As soon as we pulled back out on the street he hammered it and.....I was IMPRESSED. Thankfully he let off about the time we got sideways in the road.

The Super Bee, Roadrunner, Challenger, Charger, Cuda all had 440s at one time or another. The 69 Charger came with several different engines, my friend had one (black over yellow) with a 383 Magnum.

Of all the things going on right now in the world …this is what you get upset about??? ……the Op asked a question and it was answered by a couple of members including myself…Then i asked a question to the OP about his user name which i believed was a mopar reference..just simple conversation after answering a post that likely reached its end

I wouldn't say it was "hijacked" when you read the entire thread and the links posted by the OP. It was his posts that identified the "69 Charger RT/SE Leather 4 Speed Dana 60 all options less AC and the 2002 SVT Cobra.

As the original poster who created the thread, it's sort of difficult for mike69440 to "highjack" his own thread.....

Anyway.....

My mind is generally boggled when someone mentions the idea that we may be venturing from broken stereo wires (notice I did mention the stereo wires) to 440 6-packs, 428 Cobra-jets, 375 hp 327’s with Rochester fuel injection, need I go on? I thoroughly enjoy this site, but it isn’t broken septic valves and operating massive microwave ovens on 12 volt batteries that keep me tuned in. I’m more interested in Chevvy 1500’s towing Montana’s and Raptors on 8 year-old China-bombs. The fun never ends!
Sometimes a little hi-jack goes a long way.

^^^ I agree completely !!! It's not the mundane, "how do I dump my black tank" or the "Where's my water pump located" that keep the forum "interesting to spend time learning things".... After being around Keystone RV's for the past 15 or 20 years, there's very little about the construction or "mis-construction" that surprises me any more. BUT: Hearing about someone's grandchild's piano recital or their grandfather's classic car or the old Airstream rebuild that just sold for ten times its original MSRP or where to catch fish in a Robolo boat do make the forum "more than just a trailer gripe pit".....

If the original poster complains about his thread being hijacked, I'll take a look at it. On the other hand, someone who has NEVER posted in the thread has no "skin in the game, dog in the hunt or "privilege to complain about that thread"....

Hijacking threads, while maybe not "pure internet courtesy protocol", well, sometimes "damn the protocol"... Yep, you heard that "from a site team member".....
