Vent cover, white or smoke?

Which lets in more light? Maxxair also makes a clear cover but I think it's only available in Europe or something.

White will let more light in.

I have always put on dark Maxxair vent covers because I don't want lots of light when I don't want it. The do however hold heat although clear ones are just as bad. White might be the way to go if you want more light.

Before we picked up our camper, I asked the dealer to install 2 black MaxxAir II vent covers so they would match the black AC unit and black omnidirectional antenna. When we got to the dealership (750 miles from home), we saw that they had installed the white covers instead. We decided not to argue the point and accepted the white covers with a few “free” accessory items thrown in for our trouble.

Five camping seasons later, everything is the same as it was the day we left the dealer and we have been happy with the white covers and the amount of light that they let in (filtered/muted light as opposed to glaring direct sunshine like we get from the bathroom skylight). Knowing what we know now, we are happy that there was a “mistake”.
