Ceiling lights

ok guys, heres one for you rv techies. My cougar 32rli has 8 ceiling lights in the
living and kitchen area, what i want to do is cut down on the amount of ceiling lights as its so bright.they are all on one switch, does anyone know if i could get the covers with buttons to turn on and off, like the accent lights under cabinets,or do i need to go and take out each bulb for the ones i dont want.
any suggestions would be appreciated.

The lights in your ceiling that are switch controlled do not have the push button switch under the lens. You will have to change the entire light. That would enable you to turn individual lights off until you get to the level of light you like. Our Cougar had individual switches on the ceiling lights - worked off the control panel switch but we could eliminate lights in the string as desired.
You can get the lights with the push button lenses/switches from Trekwood.
I added one to our Laredo under the curio cabinet - IIRC it was around $15.

You could replace the fixture. Dome light fixtures are pretty cheap. You could start by replacing only the ones you want to turn off/on or you could do all 8.

If you dry camp it could be an excuse to change to LED.

Here's a search on Amazon and I'm sure you can find them even cheaper.

Maccam, as a much easier solution replace your on/off switch with a simple rheostat. This particular switch is the exact same as in our RV only it sells for half the money. This was just the first ad I found. Takes about 15 minutes and fits like a glove.
