Expanding my knowledge base

Started out w/ a '63 (?) Shasta--glamped it out for my wife--who found & bought it while I was out o' town, then a 2017 something-or-other & now a 26' 2018 Hideout. Don't mind doing a lil' handyman PM & Repair, but looking to tap others when I'm struggling w/ something--esp. when dealer can't seem to handle.

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Texan.

I remember Flower Mound when it was nothing but a field with a big hill at the exit off the freeway (hardly any cars then) and 121 was 2 lane surrounded by fields and cows. Now Flower Mound is basically a suburb of Lewisville which is now literally connected to Dallas/Ft. Worth - used to be a long stretch of nothing between them....... Progress.

Repair jobs are a great excuse to go out and purchase new tools!

(at least ... try to convince the wife that!)

Welcome! Enjoy your new camper. See you on the road!

Dometic Leak

Where is the appropriate place to post a solicitation for guidance regarding a needed repair? (I've got a leaking Dometic 310 toilet that a dealership couldn't figure out. Seems to be leaking where the foot pedal connects. Bowl seal & floor flange have both been replaced.)

New to this forum...

Thanks.

Thanks.
First thing, build a signature and save it; include year, make & model of camper and tow vehicle. Next, the Dometic 300 series (I have a 320) has a plastic bit where the water connects with a freeze plug type thing so it doesn't explode if the trailer freezes and there is water in that line. I had one leaking in a previous camper with a 300 series and replaced it... seems there was a screw that retained it. If your camper sat in the cold with water in the supply line, perhaps that is the issue. I believe this is the bit I replaced:

Ours leaked when we held it open for a lover time. Replaced the valve with an after market with double seal, and secured it with both screws. No issues since.

Followed your link wiredgeorge; ordered / replaced the part; just back from several days @ Dellanera RV Park in Galveston, TX. Nary a drop o' water leaking! Thanks much! Now to keep an eye on the not fully closing / sealing bowl! Always somethin'!

BTW, not perhaps the best time o' year for Galveston RVing...very windy, cloudy, misty most of the time. And only one "adventure" this trip, i.e., one tire (dual axle) apparently unraveled from within but I caught it before it blew.
