Stove top warping

I have a 2021 Keystone Outback. I recently noticed that the metal "grate" on the stove top was beginning to warp. At first I just thought this was just something I needed to talk to the dealer about and get a replacement under the warranty. However, when I looked closer I noticed that the front burner was also now a different shape. I am not sure why this would happen, it is almost like it is starting to melt from the heat. This makes no sense to me because that is the whole purpose of the burner to distribute the heat evenly on the pans for cooking. I plan on talking to the dealer and pushing the warranty issue, but I was just wondering if anyone else had this same problem.

Your warranty will be through the manufacturer of the stove. Hopefully the dealer will help you out. Maybe pictures/brand/models will help us.

Brand and model will help a lot. Does your stove have a “high output” burner?

More info is needed IMO. I've never had a burner "melt" on any of the many appliances, some very high output, I've used. I have had thin metal grates over burners deform but looking at videos of your trailer you don't have those.

Brand and model of stovetop would help greatly and as Marshall asked; what were you doing when it became deformed? Some models of stovetops warn against large pots overheating the stovetop due to the very long times it takes running the burner full tilt.

Hello,
My first post here. I purchased a 2021 Passport in April and have used it approximately 20 nights so far. I just started noticing the stove top warping also. It is a furion stove/oven combo. I plan to ask the dealer about it when I take it in for warranty repairs at the end of November. My family and I love this trailer! Big step up from the 1997 Coleman popup we used to have.

Here are a few quotes from the Furrion Stovetop/Oven Owner's Manual:

To prevent damage to the cooktop, top burners, or top grate, never operate a top burner without a pan in place. The top burners, especially the high input burner, should not be operated on high for an extended period of time. The high setting should be used only to start the food cooking or to bring liquids to a boil, then reduce the flame to a lower setting to continue cooking.

Never use cookware that extends beyond one inch of the grate (maximum pan size 10” diameter). Never place cooking utensil on grate to where it rests over two operating top burners. This will cause excessive heat buildup, which could result in damage to the grate, top burner(s), and cooktop.

Now, to be fair to Furrion, essentially the same warnings are in the Whirlpool Owner's Manual for the stove in our house, so it's not "exclusive to cheap crap built by Furrion"......

You may get your dealership to contact Furrion for replacement/repair under warranty, but if Furrion refuses to provide warranty, there are warnings in the owner's manual specifically addressing the "don't" aspect of overheating the top burners.....

Thank you for your response. I haven’t done any of the things listed above. Mainly cook on medium heat. I don’t believe we have even boiled water on the cook top. I will see how the dealer wants to handle it.

The Atwood stove top owner's manual has a caution about using a skillet/pan larger than 10". They claim (if I remember correctly) that a larger pan will trap heat under it and damage the stove top. So, even cooking on medium heat, if the pan is too large..... Hopefully your dealer will step up, but don't be surprised if they don't.....
