keytv controller

Hi, new 5th wheel. Found stereo doesn't have any sound at all. Checked the keytv multisource controller to find the FM doesn't have a hookup for it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Stereo isn't connected through the KeyTv

It is controlled through the radio/dvd

Could be anything from the speaker selection button not pushed to a loose wire

If you post the trailer model and year and specific information about the stereo it's much easier to answer questions; they all operate differently.

The receiver does more than FM. Does nothing at all come through it or just FM? Do you have power to it? Did it work on your PDI?

And, welcome to the forum!

keytv controller

Hi, I have a 2022 keystone avalanche 390ds. It has the JMW92A stereo.
It powers on, but nothing else. No sound thru speakers, not even static.
There is an antenna hookup plugged into the back, but the wires are bundled together and not connected to anything. Thanks.

The installation manual will tell you how to hook it up to the TV and stereo so the aux speakers work.. see page 5 and 6

stereo came hooked up. I pulled the unit out and I had sound from speakers. checked all the wiring and went to put it back in cabinet, no sound again. Unwound the antenna plug in and routed it up thru the cutout for the tv connections. Got 2 exposed wires hanging
on my cabinet pull above the tv. Stereo works now. I just don't like those wires hanging. I had just run the wires behind the tv, but sound came in better with them being above tv. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Your initial post was interpreted as the stereo not working. From this post I understand the issue to be the unit was not pulling in a station and is otherwise working properly now that you have relocated the antenna wire. Is this correct?

I interpreted the no sound as the unit would power on, but nothing else. So,
yes, that would be correct. Thank you.

So, the radio wasn't receiving a signal.

For <$20 you can buy a little antenna and mount it behind the TV

The sources of sound thru the receiver can come from multiple sources, not just FM. You need to read through the manual to see how it operates. You select the source, make sure the source is on and you will get sound. AM, FM, TV, DVD, Aux/HDMI; however you wire it up.

As Javi stated, you can get a decent FM antenna for a small investment. I installed an amplified antenna on our radio years ago. Our radio has a switched 12v dc output on the radio that's intended for powering up an external amplifier. I connected that to the amplified antenna so it is only on when the radio is on. It works very well for our needs which is mainly noise to mask outside noise for the dog when we leave him in the camper alone.

That's what I intend on doing. Thank you so much for your help.
