Trailer sway when windy

I have a 28' keystone I pull with my ford truck. When its windy out I get alot of push/sway in the trailer. I've been pulling for many years and it seams worse with trailer. Is there a certain way to setup the stabilizer bars to prevent this. I also use a sway bar

What Ford truck? What Keystone trailer? If you go up the "User CP" snd add a signature with make, model and year of your trailer and truck you'll get more relevant answers to your questions.

If you're pulling a 28' trailer and you have a 1/2 ton truck (do you?) and all you have are those little attachable friction sway bars you're going to have a tough time controlling sway in the wind even if you had 2 of them. If you do have a 1/2 ton pulling that trailer you very well may have the truck maxed out. I used them last on a 25' trailer and might as well had nothing there on a windy day. Got rid of them, went with Equalizer and problems solved. Marshall provided some good advice on posting your truck and trailer info so folks can help.

Depending on your truck, the tires that are on it, the load you're carrying in addition to the tongue weight and road conditions, you may be "the best it's going to get" with that setup....

Your best bet, is to assess your ENTIRE rig, weights, balance, WD setup, tires, hitch, sway devices in use.... Find your "weakest links" (there are probably more than one or two) and start by identifying them and looking for solutions.

Really won't make a difference. You need a good WDH with 4 pt sway control built in. A 1/2 ton truck without LT tires will struggle with the weight, tongue weight, wind sail area, etc. towing a 28' trailer. Post your yellow/white tire pressure label on your drivers door. It will have a payload number written similar to "passangers and cargo shall jot exceed xxxx lbs. That's the truck's payload. Those "max towing" numbers really aren't relevant t9r campers.

Then tell us what year and model number of your trailer is. No point in talking published weights (including tongue weight) as they are an empty trailer. Use the trailer gross weight and use 13% of that for an estimated tongue weight. If you want to know the truth then go weight the rig on a Cat scale. Otherwise the posts will all be guessing and could be misleading.
