Mark Twain Natl. Forest, MO

Looking to head to this area for a meetup with some friends in June next year. Any recommendations for good camping spots in this area?

We will be 3 5ers all about 35ft. Looking for full hookups and things to do.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Lake Wappapello COE. I haven't been there but got a good review on a truck camper forum.
Years ago, 35?, we were through there and did some canoeing on Jacks Fork of the Current River from Eminence. The result being my wife will never get in a canoe with me again. Me: " You're working on your PhD and can't figure out which side of the canoe to paddle from" ???
We stayed at a small campground in Eminence but I can't remember much of it.

Give this place a try. I believe we paid about $20 per night a few years ago. Very nice and all FHU's.

We spent a week in September at the COE campground at Lake Wappapello, MO. The campground is well kept and the sites are nicely spaced with full hookups. Activities are the usual water sports and hiking. If you like flea markets there are plenty of those in the area. Make a reservation online as the campgrounds fill up fast, and don't let the gps put you on CR-547 as it's a dirt road that's rutted and more like an atv trail.
