Not from Canada either, but we have, for several years now, left central Indiana for Florida or South Carolina or Lousiana the week of Christmas. The camper is winterized until we reach the Kentucky - Tennessee state line. We'll un-winterize once we cross. When coming back home a week later, we'll winterize when we know we are going to cross that line coming back North.
We carry a port-a-potty and a 5 gallon container of water for overnights if we are still in freeze territory. Once at the campsite, both port-a-potty and water container go under the trailer, outside.
We've done this with both travel trailers and our fifth wheel. Works great. Think outside the box and you can do it too.
