Dealer paint protectant

Does anyone think possibly that dealers put the paint and interior protectant on all their RVs with hopes they can get some people to pay for it when purchasing?? The reason I wonder this is because I washed the RV this weekend after getting home from a couple days camping and noticed the water ran off like water on a duck. Even though we were parked next to a dusty drive, seemed there was no dirt at all on the RV other than a few bugs on the nose. I didn't want the protectant on mine but that only came up on closing just before taking it home, so maybe they put it on hoping they could get me to pay for it.

Time and cost say no, not until it's paid for.

We don't at our dealership, but there have been times when the work was completed after down payment received and financing approved and the person backed out for some reason.

Well actually they had the loan approved with the protectant included, never said I wanted it and at the end while closing, said I wasn't interested. So who knows, not even sure how to tell if they did or didn't even if I had said yes I wanted it.

My dealer said there is a light application on all right from the start. It keeps the trailers maintenance free and repells sight seers. The trailer is prtected a bit.

I would find that hard to believe. It's a two step process and that takes time=money. Factory doesn't that's for sure.

The dealer may be like some car dealerships. They apply it ahead of time and then just charge for it. Most customers probably don't fight it so they get more sales that way. I don't like it when they do it and not saying that's what they did, but it sure sounds that way.

Not sure myself but I've not seen water run off a waxed car like it runs off of the RV so who knows. I think I will get some of the TopGun and put some on the front cap before we go to the Talladega race since I know there will be bugs!!
