We like to have subdued lighting at night, so along with our rope lighting, we added an LED dimmer to the kitchen lights (we also added two additional fixtures)...

did you not have foam insulation in the ceiling or how did you run those wires for the extra lights? And to get the wire to the new dimmer switch?
