Access to storage under the dinette

I have a 2011 Passport 2910BH and don’t know why they wouldn’t make it easier to access the storage under the U-shaped dinette. I was wondering if anyone ordered cabinet doors and cut the openings out themselves. It looks like the upper cabinet doors over the sink would fit just fine. My plan would be to order the doors and the hardware from the dealership

There are several posts throughout the forum about modifying the various dinette booths for better access and/or storage.
Here's one: U-Dinette Storage?

You can also try the forum search feature using the key words:
dinette
dinette booth
booth

Hope this helps!

A portion of my U-dinette was taken up by the water heater. I thought I would open it up and check out the connections and what not and lo-and-behold, there was a good bit of un-used, open space. I thought about building a large drawer for the space and decided to just block off the water heater and cut the ply in half and make into useable space. Its about 2' x 2' more or less. Just cutting a hole and adding a cabinet door would be an option too. I would be afraid of catching my pants leg on a handle, though.
