IMHO "fuel price" posts are pretty useless. QT this AM was 3.28, was 3.45 just 4 days ago. Alsups on one side of the highway was 3.34, the Iron Horse on the other was 3.42. Little stations in town run from 3.48~3.99 and they are serviced by the same tankers/fuel depot that deliver to the I-20 stations. Thats around a city of 120K. So prices are just all over. I bought fuel last Tuesday for 3.89, then this Tuesday for $3.38 and same station was 3.32 this morning. It may be under 3.30 by the time I drive home today.

All this while the market price for Brent crossed up to $104/bbl in the same week. So go figure.

Heck guys, have you tried buying distilled water lately? There is NONE anywhere around SW Colorado. Went online to see if I could buy it and $10.00 and more PER GALLON. Wish I could use gasoline in my batteries. I can understand high fuel prices with the maniac invading and slaughtering children in Ukraine but water??????
I am buying a distiller.

No shortage in Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee or Wisconsin. All $1.00 to $1.39 per gallon.

Jim< load the truck up and make a water run! You cannot buy it around here. I am going to Grand Junction on Monday, which is the biggest town on the West Slope and look there. I need a bunch if I can find it. Living off the grid I use a lot of distilled water in my batteries for the house. Usually 2 gallons a month to keep 12 6 volt fork lift batteries hydrated. I use to buy a couple of gallons every time I would go to town and that was enough to build a cushion on. But no more I am into my reserve stash now, down to 5 gallons.

Out of curiosity, I just checked for distilled water in gallon jugs at all 3 of the WalMarts in Grand Junction. They all say, "unavailable to pick up"... You can order for delivery to the store on Tuesday, but apparently none in stock... Seems strange that we've got it stacked to the ceiling around here and none to be had in Grand Junction... Hmmmmm

And if you do "order it" for pickup it will be "unavailable". None to be had in western Colorado. I agree, when I researched the problem online it made it sound like it was nationwide. Obviously that is not the case but is strange that on Amazon it is "out of stock" also. I am talking about the cases of 6 1 gallon jugs that used to include free shipping. Only if you live here?
This is like onto the great toilet paper shortage of 2020.

More people out west with solar systems and batteries that need distilled water I guess…you all are trying to buy it for the same reason

Oak I'm wondering if it has something to do with Amazon's ability to process that particular product and ship it to your particular location? I order a lot from Amazon and when I do it always gives my default shipping address in TX. When I change it to the address here in FL it changes dramatically; from approx. 2 days to 7-14 days at best. That is only beat if it is a non Amazon supplier somewhere close to us and they don't use Amazon's shipping.

I figure there is a hole in Amazon's network. They appear to be trying to correct that here with a new facility near my daughter in Tallahassee. I didn't know what it was the first time I passed it (Thornton Rd.). Now it has progressed and it is HUGE; looks like a city unto itself. When finished I hope it cuts down on their shipping time/availability for those here in the FL panhandle. Maybe there's something in the works for the W side of CO - or it could be caught up in the CA bottleneck??

I’ve had that exact distiller for about 3 years and have distilled a lot of water with it. Works pretty good.

In the baby section of the Walmart they sell Baby water which is distilled but I think they add stuff back into it. Not sure how that would fly in a battery. And Brian, I suspect there are more than a few solar homes here in Texas that must use distilled water and perhaps more than a smaller state like Colorado so can't see supply issues just because of usage. I find it strange folks in Colorado are having supply issues with distilled water. I could understand shredded potatoes though...
