2020 Cougar leaks behind front cap

Endured heavy rain and winds here in Florida during Elsa. Had closed up our cougar 24rds, pulled in slides and battened it down while we went to spend night with friends. On return campground crew and camper owners said it wasn't too bad a storm...less than expected. We opened the camper, put out the slides, then discovered our mattress mattress topper, bed linens were soaked...and nightstand on one side was covered in water and fake wood was swollen! Using fans etc., We were able to dry everything out. So far so good. Must have been caused by storm. Hmmm light rain this morning...droplets of water running behind cabinet and onto nightstand and bedding!
Apparently a leak in cap in front of camper. Can this be fixed with sealent. Stuck waiting for mobile serviceman right now. Of course our camper is out of warranty...

With a 2020 camper you should have inspected the roof and cap seal along with the seals on the side already; I think there is a regular specified maintenance regimen. Your mobile repair guy (if he is any good) should be able to point out where the leak is occurring and fix it quick; could be side juncture with roof, cap not sealed, skylight or other penetrations above the bed as the water can and will walk towards the front of the camper since that is a downhill slope. Good luck and tell us how it goes.

I re-sealed the front marker lights on the front cap on our 298RE as it leaked a little driving in a torrential Texas storm. Sealant was poor from factory.

The mobile repairman sealed any places he thought necessary. Then my husband sealed. Few places he thought were missed. All seems well now.
