Keystone Avalanche?

We are looking to trade our 2020 Keystone Laredo 331BH (40' TT) for our 1st 5th Wheel ever.

Upgraded the truck last week and now have a 2017 Ford F350 DRW. Loving the new truck.

Think we are going to trade up to a 2020 Keystone Avalanche 396BH. Does anyone own an Avalanche and what are your overall thoughts on quality of build, etc?

Leaning toward a B&W Companion hitch. Thoughts on hitch? We have 8ft bed.

Go for it, or run the other way, lol? Pics of my trade TT and my new Truck.

Highly recommend the B&W Companion.
Not a big Ford fan, but that's a nice truck.

We had an Avalanche before our HC. I was a good camper with very little issues, just minor tweaks. The only reason we traded was for the garage in the 381TH for our golf cart. I liked that better then pulling another trailer behind the 5er.

We are on our 2nd Avalanche. Wouldn't own anything else. High quality for a decent price. It's rated between the High Country and Montana. Never had any major issues. Our new 2021 382FL is having 3 auto level cylinders replaced for leaks.

You'll love the difference between the TT and fifth wheel. My caution is don't trade, if you can help it. Spend money, advertise, and sell your BH yourself. You'll get slaughtered on your like new trade in by a dealer. That BH of yours will be perfect for the right buyer. Take your time.

Trade in

we bought it for $33k.....used 10 months and still got $30k on trade in....so not to much of a bath.

Dealership came down into the $57k range in the 2020 Avalanche.....so feel like we got a good deal. Shopped it nationally.

Only driving 3 hrs to pick it up in San Antonio on Monday......now to get the trade rig organized and ready for the switch over! Busy weekend.

Do you have relatives in Amarillo?
The largest rv dealer in that area is Jack Sisemore Traveland.

Excellent, looks like you got a good deal. Love to see buyers not afraid to drive a few miles to get a better buy. Hope you enjoy your new rig.

Yes, I am also from the panhandle and all the "Sisemore's" in TX Panhandle are related. I grew up in Muleshoe before moving to Houston.

We grew up in Dumas, raised our kids in Perryton & retired in the DFW area.

I'm just down the road from you in Liberty. You will enjoy how the 5th pulls compared to that long TT. Let us know how your first tow back to Huffman from San Antonio went.

Made it back home with new rig- PICs

.....and for all the Texans, yes I stopped at Bucky's to filler up. The F350 Dually pulled like a dream as well.

Stayed at A cool park in Seguin, TX on the Guadalupe River.....last night in the TT (Laredo 331BH).

Looks great, but looking at the photo it seems that the front is low.. may just be the angle.

I had the same issue with mine and finally got it adjusted and boy does it make a difference in how the rig rides.. it wasn't bad but I could tell it wasn't right..

Finally lowered the pin box and raised the hitch

Nice truck, just purchased a 2021 F350 myself. I've owned 2 Laredo's, 1 Avalanche, and now have an Alpine. Never any issues with my Avalanche and minor issues with 1st Laredo and Alpine. However everything all taken care of. Keystone has been good to me so far.

Never ever pass up a Bucc-ee's.
Is that the Bucc-ees on I-10 Seguin? Used to be my regular stop for fuel and food on the way to and from Laredo.
It does look just a little low in front, but could be the pic angle.
