Furnace

OK, I'm new to this.

This last week was the first time we tried using our furnace. When we turned it on, you could feel the heat coming from the floor vents but the ducted fan (in the ceiling) was also running. Is this supposed to happen? No heat coming from above, is this just to keep the air circulated or do you have to do something to get the fan to blow through the heater vents rather than the A/C vents?

set your fan to auto and the air from above will stop.

Yup! Dometic designed that thermostat so that if your hooked to 110V source, you could use the A/C fan to circulate the air. The thought was, hot air rises so you could use the fan to distribute it.

That's how I use mine. I turn on the heat and then run the fan on low to circulate the heat evenly around the camper. That way, when you leave the bathroom door closed it doesn't get colder than heII in there. It also blows more air into the bunk area which keep the bunks more comfortable. It gets pretty cold In the bedroom with the doors closed. The AC vents move more heat into the bedroom area ..... otherwise, the heat stays in the dining room area.
