Sewer Hose Failure

Just less than a year ago I purchased a Camco Rhino 15' hose. I have no receipts.

Yesterday when I drained the tank I notices several leaks where the hose collapses. I've only connected and disconnected this hose about 5 times. I called Camco and they are sending me a new hose assembly. Now that's service. Rhino has a satisfies customer here.

Did they say anything about where you store the hose? If you store it in the bumper the rust will rub through the hose very quickly while traveling. JM2˘, Hank

No, I just collapse it and put it in a plastic container like a recycle bin.

Is the container sealed? If so that may be a contributing factor. Since I have a basement, I use a clothes basket with a large garbage bag as a liner, allowing the hose to dry out. I have hoses that are well over 10 years old.

Thanks Chuck,

The container is open and it's stored in the basement of the 5er. Does long periods of being wet cause them to deteriorate? Wouldn't that be strange for a sewer hose? I read the reviews on the Rhino and there were many that had them over 5 yrs. Where it's hooked up most of the time it's not even in the sun.

After I power flush them.... I open the LP Door and store them with both ends down to drain to the open air draped over the bottles. 5 years and counting... good as new!

I have personally never spent the money they want for Rhino even with my employee discount. I prefer the Wal Mart stuff and one hose is going on 15 yrs.

I've been using the Rhino hoses for several years now and never had a problem.
Over the years I've tried several brands and the Rhino have been the best by a large margin.

I didn't see any discussion on whether you are supporting the hose on one of those hose supports, such as a Camco Sidewinder. If you aren't, and just laying the hose on the ground, don't expect the hose to last all that long.

The hose has been on support it's entire life. I probably just got the only bad one out of a batch.

Great company though, they made it right.
