Outdoor kitchen outlets not working

Hi,
I have been using the outdoor fridge and tv in our outdoor kitchen for a few days. Everything was working great.

Suddenly the tv went off and I noticed that outlets in the outdoor kitchen are no longer working. There are two outlets in the outdoor kitchen.

I looked in the fuse panel, I don't see any breakers tripped and no fuses are lit indicating they have blown.

The lights in the outdoor kitchen still work.

I am not sure where to look now... The fuse panel and breakers don't say anything specific to the outdoor kitchen (poor labelling)

Thanks for your help.

Hi again.

Well as I was typing the prior message I then noticed that the gfi in the bathroom was tripped (not sure why) but this apparently controls the outdoor kitchen outlets. As soon as I reset the gfi, everything started to work.

Hopefully this doesn't reoccur for no reason. It's true what they say, you do your best thinking in the bathroom!

Glad you found the problem, that was going to be my first thing to check.

As for why, any little bit of moisture will trip a GFI, that's what they are designed to do. So if you happen to splash some water near an outlet it can trip it. Happens quite often. Anytime we have a mysterious outage like that the first thing I check is the GFI. Sometimes they seem to have a mind of their own.

Those things go bad very frequently. I've had some bad right out of the box with the cheaper ones. If it begins to do it more often, and you can verify no moisture is getting into any outlet near a sink, or outside, then I'd suggest replacing it with a good quality GFCI receptacle. Make sure your connections are tight after replacement. Good luck!

Mods to come....

Door stops for bathroom and bedroom doors.

12V receptacles in bedrooms, kitchen and entertainment center.

L.E.D. bulb replacement throughout.

Sewer hose holder (I don't like it in the bumper)

Glad you found it, that is what I was thinking. If the outlet got wet when someone was drying their hands in the bathroom or either of the outlets in the kitchen. Also I believe the outside outlet is on it as well.

Most likely (outside outlet on GFCI as well). Since it's in a potentially wet location.

I noticed a "protected by GFCI" sticker on the outlet over our outdoor kitchen sink over the weekend.
