Not a happy keystone owner

Three weeks ago i had an appointment at the dealer to have the couch replaced so i wen't in the camper a couple of days before to check it out.Well guess what, the carpet is soaked the ceiling on the slide is warpped and the moldings all pulled out and i got a puddle of water on the table. Now i'm pissed i call the dealer they said they would check it out, well I guess they pulled the rug and there was black mold everywhere. Now keystone is picking up the trailer to fix it at the factory.I paid 30,000.00 for this trailer I used it 4 weeks and had an issue every week with it.I don't want the camper I wan't keystone to give me a new one.Who out there would be alright keeping this thing after there was black mold in it.I didn't by a used camper. If I don't get a new one I will be contacting a laywer. Now that i vented thanks for listening

Sorry to hear this news. I think I would want a new trailer as well. Good luck with your fight.

If you can do it, keep us up to date. I'm curious how and when the water started. If there was that much black mold, Im guessing the water was coming in for a little while. I would want a new trailer also!! Call a lawyer....your insurance....whoever it takes to get it done. Good Luck!

I would be ticked too! But, when dealing with Keystone try to stay as professiomal as possible! Get the dealer on your side too.
Also, you have the better business bureau and the state attorney general where you can file complaints if keystone won't get it worked out.

Heck your insurance comapny may not cover because of the extensive damage.

I wish you the best!

I also discovered a soft floor and a "repaired" slide roof on a new Keystone trailer I bought. The damage was covered up and not disclosed to me upon purchase. Was discovered when I tried to trade for a 5th wheel. Took many photos of the damage. Was a lot of denial until I showed the roof and the tape photo on this never purchases trailer. The trouble is the lots leave those slides out, day and night throughout the year or years until the trailer is sold, exposed to all kinds of weather. After a lot of dragging of feet, and a threat to get my attorney's advice, I went over the dealer's head right to Keystone. I wanted to trade the trailer for a 5th wheel, the Dealer at first refused...when contacted by Keystone, they suddenly agreed and I was very happy to get rid of it.

Insurance is not going to pay for a loss that is not caused by a named peril. Example would be hail, wind, ect. I do not know of any insurance companies that cover mold in fact most have it as an exclusion. Unfortunately insurance does not cover poor workmanship. Warrenty is where you may want to look. I hate to hear about your trouble I do agree with an earlier post keep it professional and get the dealer on you side. Good Sam may be able to help you as well. Check out thier publication. As a Keystone owner I would like to know how it turns out for you. Good luck!

I'm not woried about the insurance company because keystone is going to fix it ,it's just the point that I bought a brand new camper and what happens down the road if i keep it.Honestly I don't even know if I want another keystone.I went to the dealer to look and the campers on the lot look worst than mine as far as the appearance, the center caps are all rusty the door latches for the storage doors are bleeding rust and these are 2013.I just find the quality ain't there.

An experience like this is very disappointing and frustrating...
But at least Keystone is standing behind the trailer.. and going to fix it...
Looks like maybe the dealer sold you old inventory or inventory that had been neglected... I would be hesitant to buy another trailer from that dealer...

Just out of curiosity, did you run the VIN to see if it was the year model that the dealer said he was selling you? At this point I would be skeptical of anything that dealer said. That's really sad because I think Keystone builds as good a product as the other guys, and there are a lot of reputable dealers out there.

Your situation is definately unfortunate. I would be furious too, especially with the way the dealer has dealt with it. The dealer should be going to bat for you and pressing Keystone to do right by you. I am at times shocked to see how sub standard rv dealers remain in business in todays market.
In any case, you are better off sending the unit back to the factory versus the dealer making the extensive repairs. My guess is that the factory will make the necessary repairs and do them properly. After all, they built it. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I deal with Flagg and am surprised at all this but the problem came from the factory. Are they going to replace the entire slide? Is that the only place that has mold and other damage. If it is completely replaced it would be like new but of course you would have missed out on a lot of camping. I wish you good luck in getting this done and get back to camping.
