I am not talking poor aim, I am talking the splash from the stream hitting the bowl and/or water seal at the bottom of the bowl.

So you recreated a two phase filter system. Nice. Is it just supported by the in/out hoses and the sides of the milk crate?

And as an old man, that procedure will get you roughly 50% empty, as I have proven to myself many times by the frequency with which I have to get up again during the night if I take the easy way out and sit down.

Well over 70 and don’t need to get up in the middle of the night, just lucky I guess.

Probably... It's normal to have the "gurgling" as the toilet rim bleeds down. It's very similar to the "glug" that happens when you try to pour milk out of a gallon jug too fast or pour gas from a 5 gallon can without opening the vent...

glug Glug GLUG ....
