Yet another winterize question

With the 2022 model line putting solar panels on all the Montana and HC's, do you still need to pull the batteries, or would the trickle effect of the solar be sufficient?

1) Does the system use temperature compensation in the charging algorithm?
2) Are there no/negligible loads during storage?
3) Can the panels provide at least 0.05C charge current (e.g., 5A for 100Ah battery)?
4) Have you observed the system operating consistently and reliably?
5) Can you ensure the batteries are fully charged before storage?
6) Are you willing to risk a malfunction that may damage batteries?

If the answer to all 5 is "YES!" then you're good. Otherwise, I would yank them in the case of FLA. If GEL or AGM, physically disconnect battery, and they're good to sit for about 3 months between charges, longer in cold weather.... but ... still better to float in a controlled environment.

I know lots of people that leave the battery(s) hooked up, disconnect turned off.

On my prior camper, that had two group 24 12v batteries in a Torklift Power Armor Solar battery box (10 watt panel), with the battery cutoff switch disconnecting them from the camper, they were fine here in coastal Virginia.

My 26RBS with the 200w panel on the roof should keep my single battery fine over the winter. Even if I forget to turn off the switch. Unless we are plunged into eternal darkness.
