21 gal Camco Rhino Waste Tote

For Canadian RVers, this tote is on sale until March 3st at Peavey Mart out west and TSC Stores out east for $162 CDN. (Amazon.ca is $234 CDN)

https://www.peaveymart.com/Rhino-Por...on-P27600.aspx

Just unboxed mine and it has the new wheel mount system. Prior models had reports of wheels falling off.

Thread title corrected. I was wondering when I saw it which brand camcorder was built in.... Stranger things have happened, I suppose, but why on earth would someone want to "record a video of a holding tank" ?????

I started to correct the title earlier, but thought maybe it really did have a camcorder to verify the contents

I've got a 27 gallon "blue tank".... (not bragging, just stating the size)...

I've also got 43 gallon gray tanks. I only use the portable tank to empty gray contents... So, for me, I open the gray tank valve until it starts bubbling out the blue tank vent, haul that to the dump station, come back and finish emptying that tank and move to the next....

I do not use the blue tank to dump my black tank !!!!!

My reasons are two fold: First, cleaning the blue tank can be more a pain than just towing the trailer to the dump station... Time wise, it's about the same, "exposure to unpleasant", cleaning the tank is far worse than hitching the trailer.... That said, our black tank usually lasts 8-10 days with ease while depending on what we're doing, the gray tanks may fill in a couple days....

Second concern: Shutting off (closing the black tank valve) in "mid-stream" is an excellent way to trap solids (paper, or other things) and push them into the seals, causing the valve to leak. If you've ever had to clean the space between the seals (where the valve slide goes) you already know it's worse than cleaning the blue tank.....

So, if you're going to buy a portable tank for black tank use, I'd suggest getting one that will hold ALL the black tank contents without having to "close the black tank valve mid-stream"....

Like you John, we last at least a week on the black tank and only plan to use the tote for grey if needed.

Just noticed your post now. It's back up to $199.99.

I got 2 last year and a Flojet. Great combo for dry camping.

Whoa..no sales tax in NH?? Not sure how I didn’t realize this across the border in MA. Thinking I should grab my generator at Camping World when we pick up our 2430BH in a few weeks.

They have had this set up for years. It is called CSPAN with images from congress. No difference.

I got the 26 gallon last year on a killer sale at Walmart. It's a very nice tank. Mine didn't come with the camcorder option, though. Maybe I'll add it later...

Based on this post, looked on Amazon and bought a 28 gallon Camco for $116. I like John's idea of not using this for the black tank. My gray tanks are 53 gallon each, so no more than 2 trips to completely empty a gray tank.

With our new Solitude, we have 2 bathrooms and 2 black tanks, so should not have a problem with having to empty a black tank prior to moving.
