New Keystone model: Arcadia

I just received an ad from Keystone about their new “3/4 ton towable 5th wheel”, the Arcadia. What I see is exactly what all you ‘old timers’ have been railing about for years: blue sky, BS advertisements.

IE: “dry weight”: 10,763
Hitch weight: 1880
Carry weight: 2737 (800# of it in water @ 101 gallons)

From my calculations, 20% of 10,763 would be 2153 for the hitch weight. Fully loaded at 13,500#, hitch weight would be 2700.
It appears that the TV would have to be a pretty specially outfitted 3/4 ton to take this weight!
Am I missing something here?

Nope. You're not missing anything...

If you really want a "good laugh" run those same numbers on the "Half Ton Arcadia"...

Nope, most 3/4 ton crew cab gassers have 3,000 lbs or more payload. The new Chevy 3/4 ton gassers nicely equipped have 3500lbs+ payload on a crew cab, as they have 10,500 GVWR. 4k on some if 2WD and low trim. If it was just a couple traveling that would be doable. So definitely doable, especially with a chevy. Not even a pie in the sky BS number. Now if that's the smallest one then yeah, there is an issue from there going bigger. And a diesel, of course no way.

Without actual weights You nor I know the true pin weight. Ford engineering spelled out in the "2021 Ford RV & Trailer Towing Guide" pin weight should be 15% of actual trailer weight. Yes, that number can very and is controllable by loading considerations. Yes, they state to not exceed any published weight limits.

From Manufactures to Dealers, from automotive to recreational, I am observing, first hand, there responsibility to do the right thing and they are.

GMC and FCA provide similar documentation available for download.
