Run on Shore Power Only?
I am in the process of getting a new battery. Is it safe to run on shore power with the battery leads disconnected and insulated so they don't touch anything? Or will that damage the converter/charger? I know that I will not have lights, etc. but am wondering if the slide motors or other 110v items will operate.

You do not need a battery to use the trailer. All 12v lights and equipment will work off the converter when on shore power. BUT!!!!! Slides and jacks SHOULD NOT be operated without a fully charged battery to avoid low voltage damage to motors.

And possible damage to the converter by drawing too many amps.

Actually just the opposite. Ig you remove the battery do not run the the slides in or out. The slide motors are 12 vdc and most likely will draw more amps than the converter can provide so you run the chance no damaging the converter and the slide motor.
Everything else should work OK.

WOW, I am glad that I asked before trying to operate the slides! Like I said I will be upgrading the battery in a week so it is not a long term thing. What about connecting a jump box to the battery leads in place of the battery?
