Converter

While camping this weekend the 12 volt side of electrical system went dead. 10 on Saturday night of corse. I removed the load center to check converter after I checked a couple of other things. I found a colony of ants in their that killed the converter. WTF!!! Some more whisky and go to bed. Sunday morning I went to the hardware store an bought a charger to retract slides, awnings and landing gear.
I did have a ant problem early july and sprayed the hell out of everything, haven't seen any for a month. Anyone else ever have any thing like this happen?

I hate those pesky ants. Find some Taro ant poison baits. They take it back to the nest and the queen dies.

Common problem around our house. Seems like the red ants love electricity.

They will run around inside the pressure switch on our well - every time the switch closes it will smash a few ants - in time, the switch will be so gummed up that the contacts have to be cleaned with a point file/emery. We keep a windrow of Sprctracide granular bug killer around the well pad to keep the little critters from getting in there. haven't seen them in or around the trailer - touch wood. Like the idea of the bait traps.
