Outdoor kitchen door hold open

After a windy weekend of camping, I was discussing with the wife about trying to come up with something to keep the outdoor kitchen door up. After some back and forth about what would not be in the way she said "It's too bad you can't put one of those metal clips like a screen door has on the closer cylinder." Well that made me think of what I could possibly do on the cylinder to hold the door upright so I picked up two size 4 hose clamps. These go small enough to tighten on the cylinder rod to hold the door up and I can just loosen them a little bit and drop them down when I want to close the door. My cylinders still have 2-3 inches of the shaft exposed when the door is all the way down so the clamps sitting on the bottom of the shaft won't interfere with closing the door. Its dark now that I just verified that this works but I'll try to get a picture posted soon.

Pvc

Apiece of PVC pipe works and you don't need any tools.

This doesn't get in the way, or fall out if the wind moves the door, I always have a screwdriver with me so that's not a problem
