Battery keeps dying then refrigerator says no LP

This is our first year with our Fuzion TH and we have a couple issues that might or might not be related we would appreciate some advice on.

First of all our battery keeps dying while the trailer is in storage. We engage the battery disconnect but still is dead when we go to hook up. We have a "phantom radio" that keeps turning on but battery disconnect helped that.

Second, our battery died during the nite and then our refrigerator says we are out of LP and we have two full tanks. Can the battery being dead confuse the refrigerator?

Thanks for any advice from the pros!! Is there a hidden fuse we can do to help this? Should we have a second battery?

First, you do need a charged battery for the fridge to operate on propane. If your battery is dead or doesn't have enough "juice", then the fridge won't light.

How long do you keep your RV in storage before checking or charging the battery? As you mentioned, there are parasitic drains on the battery - stereo light and propane sensorsto name two. You might pull the fuse(s) for these two items so that there is no chance they will drain the battery.

While in storage, do you charge the battery from time-to-time? Do you have power so that you can use a trickle charger and maintain a charge on it?

Are you using the battery disconnect properly? With some disconnects, it is a bit confusing as to whether OFF is really "off" and ON actually "on".

Hope this helps somewhat....good luck with getting your fridge and battery back working.

You have a propane sensor which is before the battery cut off switch. The sensor runs ALL the TIME. Your best bet is to charge the battery and then pull the leads off the positive until you return. Please make sure your propane tanks are OFF. I personally turn off my propane and burn out the lines via the stove top. Good Luck.
