Buddy picked up the Monaco and drove it back to his home in Yuma from Phoenix.

He said it drove great, zero issues. I’ll head down the middle of Feb for a week of sealing, gutting, and new plumbing/sub floor. If I can find time while there, I’ll lay some new plank flooring.

It will get a full service at the Loves truck stop before heading home.

If your replacing carpet with laminate and its under slides, you might want to rethink. I have seen floors ruined by the slide as they were originally meant to slide on carpet.

Yes, I agree. I will have to see how this is put together.

These are not “flat floor” slides and they are very shallow compared to today’s slides. I haven’t been able to find info if they are riding on rollers or plastic rail (which what I think they are)

Either way, I need to determine what is the best floor under the slides. I am using rubber coin floor sheet for the driver/passenger/entry area. Will stop is right behind the passenger seat

Yeah, I’ll be Down Feb 17 or so. I’ll take loads of pics. I want them on file for future reference as well.

And yes, I could use your knowledge! This is a BIG project. I know what I’m getting into.

This coach was hard to find, really hard. I had to have the mindset that anything this vintage would need work.

Just for reference, this guy has loads of great info and expertise.

I’ve been pouring over his videos and others to get a good idea of what’s behind the walls when I start pulling stuff apart
