Keystone Laredo 303TG Problems?

I have a few questions about my new 2013 Laredo 303TG. I think that the front slide is not adjusted properly despite the dealer saying its good "enough". It is touching at the top but still almost 5 inches out at the bottom when sliding in. The wall seems to flex as it finally pulls in. It sits flush on one side but is almost 1 inch out on the other. Is this normal?

As well on the electric awning the bar where the shock attaches seem to bend when fully out. I walked around the campground and did not notice anyone else with that.

Thanks in advance

My awning looks like yours when its out. I figure as long as it rolls up tight it's okay. The slide is definitely out of alignment, not sure how to fix. I've read here about adjustments on the rods that can be done.

I'd have to tell my dealer that "good enough" ain't what I paid for. Your slide is more than a little out of alignment.

My awning looks exactly like yours, bend and all. Don't know if its right, but it has looked that way from the time we got it home.

Definitly NOT normal. Should be fixed. You may want to resonably approach the service manager and the sales manager and appeal to their common sense....they would not expect to recv a trailer like that...neither should you.

If no luck...contact Keystone. Document every conversation...date time who discussion.

Pls let us know what happens

X2 as far as the awning arm, this is normal to have a slight bow..............Ron

my awning arm looks like that, the shock/strut pressure does this. As far as the slide goes mine goes in snug at the top and then moves on end at the bottom until it stops against the bottom molding. Should be kinda flush and not sticking out at all.
As it gets extended, the slide rides out and then as it comes a stop, the bottom edge moves up around an inch or so and then the motor stops or trys to strip the gears if I keep my fingers on the buttons too long.

Ask your dealer to show you more trailers that are "good enough" on their lot! If they find more they have an issue, but I bet they probably can't find more. Maybe you should go to other lots and see if you can even find one that looks like yours does. Take pictures of the ones that are, in your mind, good enough and show them those pictures. I do agree with Chris199 that you should try the reasonable approach first, but if that doesn't work, you need to start ramping down on the reasonabitlity scale and get firm, but not nasty. If you have to, find a way to get pictures to Keystone! I have NEVER seen one stick out that far when it's supposed to be in. That looks WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG and as my youngest son would say, times infinity!

I have the same awning setup. I have not noticed the bowing, but I have never really paid that much attention either.

Oh, and x3 on the documenting who, when, where, date, time. EVERY converstation/interaction and start now. When you go to the dealer, take notes while you're going around with them to show them you are serious about this issue.

I the slide is sticking out approx 5 inches at the bottom, I wouldn't want to be on the road during a rain storm as you would likely end up with a rig full of water. They have to fix fairly tight to compress the gasket to be able to seal out water. If you get no where with your dealer, take pictures and send them to Keystone, with maybe copies to Thor.

It is only that far out when pulling the slide in. From what i have read so far the botton should only be out about 1 1/2 inches when the top starts to touch. The one side will not sit flush but still seems to seal for now....

I have an appointment in 2 weeks so we will see what they do. Thanks for all the input.

The top of a Hydraulic and Electric slide will float in and out while the bottom does all the work, that is where the steel frame is bolted to. As the slide goes in, the top will tip in slightly because of the weight and touches the trailer first and then the bottom. Like I said before, definetly needs adjusted, look like it jumped a few teeth some how...............Ron
