Hard to believe we got two of these posts in one thread. What the hey, might as well shower in Coke, Windex, V8, Bacardi 151, or PBR. How bad can it be?
(Upon recommendation of a certain pharmacist in Kansas City, I have to remind you that this is not said in earnest! Only a fool would shower in Windex....well, and anti-freeze)

And showering in Bacardi 151 is a tremendous waste of resources.

Might be wise to get a generator and some propane and add water from a 5 gal jug as needed. Keep the heat up. Op if you do ever come back to the forum let us know how it turned out.

Back to the question, can you shower in RV anti-freeze? Of course you can, you can also short your 50A service to your testicles but why would you? Where is your friend's common sense?

Sounds like a common misconception... RV antifreeze is not like automotive antifreeze. I think he has the two confused. A great opportunity to enlighten him.

If he's worried about the water freezing, tell him that running water won't freeze. So he can take his shower with regular water, then reprotect the RV again with anti-freeze. He can do this every time he wants to take a shower.

It cant be good at all! After I flush the antifreeze out of my system I use the flower test to check it. I buy some flowers and fill the vase with water from the flushed system. Guess what, they usually die quickly. That tells me I need more flushing. I dont use the water until the flowers live for more than a day.

This has great life experience story telling potential

I would base my advice on two things:
1 - one shower won't kill him
2 - would I be around when he gets out of the shower

I'm laughing now just imagining it!

Well, as Jeff Foxworthy likes to say.... “You can’t fix stupid”. You just can’t.

If he is living in the RV and it has heat, as long as the underbelly is heated why does he need anti-freeze? Your friends logic is out there. Fill the water tank up and use it as long as his heat is on and he is living in it. Once done drain it and add antifreeze. Its not rocket science.

I can see Jeff Foxworthy saying, if you shower in your RV with antifreeze, you might be a redneck....

Antifreeze warmth

Take it from a Northern Canadian. Showering with a mix of antifreeze and water will keep you warmer when outside. We typically dress down one layer with the right mix. Im adding antifreeze to my soap mix to get an extra protective skin layer. Some Canuks think it is also preventing Covid from passing thru our skin layer.

So do the Canucks that belong to the Polar Bear Club use an IV drip of the stuff? Is that their secret for not feeling the cold water?

If my camper can't produce enough heat to keep the FW tank from freezing I'm not staying in it long enough to need a shower.

If you have an issue with a post or poster, take it offline in a PM. I personally don't much enjoy reading your comments once a moderator stepped into a thread.
